
ABOUT HURST WOOD KINETICS
Hurst Wood Kinetics was set up in 2017 by Vicky Rich, now Vicky Munro.
I aim to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere to help individuals achieve their personal goals through finding activities they enjoy, so that these can become part of their way of life. I carefully explain how and why we are doing specific exercises so that individuals can build awareness and control of their own body.
I often promote the classical Pilates method as a tool for fitness, and incorporate the method within many elements of my training such as functional, conditioning, mobility and resistance sessions.
I teach individuals and couples at my studio and larger classes at the Church Stretton Leisure Centre.

ONLINE CLASSES DURING LOCKDOWN
Zoom sessions to suit all abilities are running for all members of the Church Stretton Leisure Centre and others who wish to attend. Â See the class descriptions below, and feel free to contact me with questions or to request joining instructions.

CARDIO WAKE UP
9:30AM MONDAYS
A start the week energy boost
A cardio based routine, but with many different elements thrown in. We may work all areas of the body or work just one or two specific areas of the body and we'll certainly vary the timings in our HIIT based circuit sessions. Whatever we do, we will get our hearts pumping and you will be challenged, whatever your level of fitness!
Suitable for beginners through to intermediate/advanced - work at your own level

You will need: A little space, a mat (or soft rug) and some water

CHAIR STRENGTH
9:30AM TUESDAYS
101 things to do with a chair (apart from sitting on it!)
This bodyweight strength session focuses on legs, glutes and core. It can be tough, especially on the knees, but alternatives and modifications will be given and there will be time allocated to stretch each muscle group!

Suitable for experienced beginners and intermediate/advanced.
​
You will need: A robust and stable dining chair without arms (or equivalent) with a high back you can hold on to. A mat and some water

MAT PILATES
5:00PM TUESDAYS
Invigorate your body after a hard day
Our usual mixture of strength and mobility moves progressing to intermediate level. Progressions and modifications are given for each move, and this session best suits individuals with a little Pilates experience since (obviously!) hands on corrections cannot be given online. If you are looking for an overview of the Pilates method or would like to know more please contact me via the website.

Suitable for all abilities with previous Pilates experience. Please listen to your body and work to your own level.

You will need: A mat and some water

CONDITIONING AND MOBILITY
9:30AM THURSDAYS
Focus on form and movement
A mixture of moderate cardio and flowing bodyweight strength based exercises, both standing and mat based. We will know that we've worked!

Suitable for all abilities - please listen to your own body and work at your own level

You will need: A mat and some water. Weights such as dumbbells are optional for some routines

A few years ago I decided to follow my passion for activity and fitness, both of which had kept me sane and were a lifeline when I was working in more office based roles in the city.

I am now the proud owner of Hurst Wood Kinetics, a boutique fitness studio nestled in the south Shropshire hills. Here, and in local Leisure Centres, I aim to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere and to help individuals achieve their personal goals through finding activities they enjoy, so that these can become part of their way of life. I carefully explain how and why we are doing specific exercises so that individuals can build awareness and control of their own body.
